Villa Bayuh Sabbha is situated on the Bukit Peninsula, fifty metres above sea level on the cliffs that overhang Bingin beach, the property commands heart-stopping, spectacular views of the ocean and the southern regions of Bali. Fully equipped with every single facility from best quality and fully served by quality staff, the villa is one of the best accommodation for a great holiday or event in Bali.

Villa Bayuh Sabbha, meaning House of Breezes, is an exclusive private estate, a 5-bedroom peaceful retreat, comprised of nine separate buildings, with sleeping accommodation for up to fifteen persons. Situated on the Bukit Peninsula, fifty metres above sea level on the cliffs that overhang Bingin beach, the property commands heart-stopping, spectacular views of the ocean and the southern regions of Bali. Bukit is the Indonesian word for hill and the panorama from this elevation extends all the way up the west coast past Jimbaran, the airport, Kuta and Canggu, and inland to Bedugul. On a clear day, the awesome vista takes in all of the volcanoes from Mt Agung in the east, to Mt Bromo in Java. It is in this area that a number of the more affluent members of the surfing fraternity have chosen to build their homes, ensuring that early each morning a quick glance from the bedroom window will ascertain the best waves and the destination of the day. This beautiful stretch of coast boasts some of the most idyllic beaches in Bali, hidden white sandy coves that are great for both surfers and non-surfers alike.

Villa Bayuh Sabbha Style

The property was designed by acclaimed architect Glenn Parker, and the gardens created by the famous landscape architect Made Wijaya. Complemented by flat green lawns, courtyards, terraces and a serene water garden, and lovingly furnished by its Jakarta-based owners, the villa is composed of a series of pavilions, including the main residence, two guest pavilions, dining pavilion, family pavilion, Wantilan Lounge and Bale Bundar, most of which have adjoining verandahs or terraces. This style is based on the concept of the traditional Balinese family compound with a separate building or ‘bale’ for each function, and a licence to amend the purpose of each in accordance with the comforts of modern living. The estate also boasts a fitness centre, a children’s playground, two swimming pools and a large tennis court.

The formal Balinese architecture makes use of local materials, such as white Palimanan stone, teak wood and limestone, together with alang alang grass for the thatched roofs. The pavilions surrounding the main residence are modelled on the conventional Balinese ‘Wantilan’ (village meeting place), but the self-contained guest area, comprising the Bale Bundar and two rotunda gazebo bedrooms with thatched conical roofs, has an African influence.

Ecologically friendly and ever vigilant about preserving water consumption in this dry region of Bali, the estate employs a cost effective, natural treatment system. Waste water from the showers and wash basins in collected, broken down, processed and recycled for use in the garden.

Villa Bayuh Sabbha Accommodation

The layout of the property utilises and divides space, maximising the cliff top frontage. A group of fifteen people could stay at the villa and still lose each other in its depths. The staff quarters, laundry, and the fully equipped kitchen are located at the back, leaving every room to enjoy the wonderful ocean view. Approached via a 600-metre cobbled pathway, visitors are greeted by a pair of antique doors set within a traditional Balinese gateway constructed of limestone and Bengkirai (Ironwood). Stepping stones wend across a beautiful water court; a lotus pond ablaze with pink and white blossoms. Tiny islands support sweet-scented frangipani trees punctuated by the distinctive pattern of lily pads; while gentle ripples originate from a soothing fountain beside clusters of noble bulrushes.

The Family Room

The Family Room is an open pavilion featuring wooden pillars with Palimanan stone plinths, a marble floor and a wrap around terrace. A wide set of steps flanked by a pair of stone lanterns, leads down to an 18-metre horizon pool, which is fronted by a patio area with sunloungers and umbrellas. Additional shade is provided by two twisting frangipani trees; during the day the gnarled trees cast cool shadows, at night they appear to dance intimately on the shimmering water of the pool.

The Master Suite

A teak staircase leads up to the luxurious master suite. The high-ceilinged, air-conditioned bedroom adheres to the attractive theme of warm timber floors blended with fresh cream walls, hand-carved teak furniture including a large TV cabinet, and billowing white drapes canopying the four-poster king size bed. A precious feature is the large wrap-around wooden balcony accessed by glass doors in the coast-facing wall of the room. The rhythmic crashing of the waves is both thrilling and soothing. The en-suite bathroom is linked by a very spacious dressing room complete with fitted wardrobes and enhanced by an abundance of natural light. The sizeable bathroom is equally grand, featuring his and hers washbasins and an oval bathtub housed in a timber surround

The Kunyit Room

Set back from the cliff, but still offering splendid views, is the main building. The Kunyit (turmeric) Room is one of two air-conditioned bedrooms situated on the ground floor. It features a romantic four-poster bed, and sliding glass doors on the ocean side. The garden bathroom on the southern side boasts a bathtub, together with an open-air shower sheltered by a thatched roof.

The Asam Jawa Room

The Asam Jawa (tamarind) Room is furnished with twin beds and includes an en-suite bathroom. Local artifacts have been fondly placed in curved alcoves to show them off to their best advantage, and an intricately carved antique wooden door mantel is positioned against the wall. The bedroom is equipped with satellite TV and also offer the option of a ceiling fan as an alternative to the air conditioning.

The Guest Room

Two stand-alone, air-conditioned guest rooms flank the Bale Bundar. The circular theme is continued with conical roofs, and glass doors all along the 120 degree ocean facing curve of each building. Each guest pavilion, with its timber floor and en-suite bathroom, has its own distinct character created by independent furnishing styles. Primitive artworks adorn the walls, rich drapes frame the windows; rustic furniture enhances that African bungalow ambience. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, bigger than they appear from the outside, each featuring a dressing room, a marble hand-basin on a funky washstand, and an en-suite garden bathroom. The north guest pavilion offers a secret view of Dreamland beach from the circular canopied bathtub, while complete privacy is maintained by the exterior walls. Each bedroom is equipped with a satellite TV and DVD player.

The Wantilan Lounge

Perched on the edge of the cliff is the Wantilan lounge, another open pavilion for resting, chilling out with a book perhaps, and enjoying the tranquillity. Measuring eight by eight metres, this breezy square pavilion has a raised wooden floor and is scattered with cushions. A state of the art Bose sound sytem has been installed to enhance further enjoyment of the space.

The Study Suite

On one side of the Main Building, the balcony becomes a walkway, which leads to an elegant study room equipped with a desk, IDD telephone, internet access, quality surround sound system, sideboard and comfortable sofas and chairs. Behind a screen is a mini-bar, making this room also suitable for entertaining a small group of friends.

The TV Room

The Kupu Kupu (butterfly) Room, also located on teh ground floor of the main building. It is a delightful air conditioned TV room furnished with yet more comfortable sofas, shelving, lamps and a desk. There is an en-suite washroom with toilet and an open air shower under a thatched roof in a private pebbled garden. French windows at the front of the Kupu Kupu Room open on to a lawn.

The Gazebo

A little way across the lush manicured lawn, resting on the southern end of the cliff-top is the Bale Sunset. From this small, circular, relaxation pavilion, with its richly grained coconut wood pillars, timber floor and built-in table, guests can enjoy not only the sunset, but also an infinity view. From here, it is possible to see the nearby Uluwatu cliffs and watch the surfers riding some of the biggest breaks on the island as a fleet of tiny jukung fishing boats return after a day’s work.

The Bale Bundar

The self-contained guest area, on the northerly side of the property, is dominated by the Bale Bundar, which literally means circular pavilion. Raised above ground level, it has a thatched conical roof supported by magnificent cylindrical pillars. The base of the structure, together with the pillars is pieced together with random shapes of white limestone from the Bukit, forming a tightly packed honeycomb. Customarily, this feature beside a beach would have been created from white sea-coral, but the local limestone is an environmentally acceptable substitute that is still in keeping with the original style. This exquisite open-air living area is furnished with a large day bed and rests beside a lens shaped infinity swimming pool that appears to flow over the edge of the cliff. A flat terrace in front of the pool is dotted with sunloungers and sheltered by a tumbling hedge of cerise bougainvillea. Pendulous ceiling fans enhance the cool breezes that waft through the pavilion, and guests are lulled by the constant sound of the rolling waves on the beach below. A kitchen and bathroom are situated at the back of the building.

Villa Bayuh Sabbha Dining Room

Immediately adjacent to the family room is the impressive dining room. This self-contained building offers a choice of two very different dining experiences. The interior is furnished with a majestic dining table and chairs, providing a somewhat formal, air-conditioned dining facility for up to twelve persons. The glorious view is preserved by the tall french windows that can, of course, be opened to allow the cool breezes to permeate. These glass doors lead out onto a raised wooden deck furnished with two smaller tables for the purpose of more casual, alfresco dining. Every need has been considered and another toilet is situated at the back of the building.

The Istana is located on southwestern tip of Bali in an area named the Bukit. This one and a half acre property perched high atop dramatic cliffs, is more a palace than a villa, with cathedral ceilings, rich teakwood interiors, Thai silk bedding, Lotus water gardens and two swimming pools. Located in Uluwatu, featuring five bedroom suites and a thirty-two meter swimming pool facing west onto the pacific ocean, The Istana sets new standards for private luxury villas in Bali.

The overall style is a medley between understated modern architecture and traditional Indonesian detailing, with features that blend Indonesian materials and workmanship. The artwork represents a mixture of primitive art and antiques originating from Indonesia, keeping with the aura of tradition and style.

Set back forty meters from the cliff face, The Istana sits within a tremendous gated property and is composed of two swimming pools, a relaxation bale, a private guest house (containing the master bedroom), and a main house. Within the main house is a living room, dining room, entertainment room (known as the Dotcom room), and four identical bedroom suites.

The Istana Bedrooms

This five bedroom estate overlooks white sand beaches and a blue lagoon abundant with fish and living coral, and offers a prime location from which to witness the island’s stunning sunsets.

The Master Bedroom is located within the guesthouse, which is separate from and slightly more elevated than, the main building, and set back so as to offer complete privacy. It has its own entrance way, parking facilities, and private swimming pool. The L-shaped pool is two and a half meters deep and is faced with a black volcanic stone. It has its own outdoor shower and lounge chairs.

The other four bedrooms are located down open corridors, two of which lead past the dining room facing the ocean, and two of which lead past the Dotcom room. Each suite entry is decorated with carved limestone blocks representing traditional Ikat weavings from the islands of Flores and Sumba.

Each of the four matching suites is comprised of a bedroom with a capacious walk-in closet, and indoor and outdoor Bali-style bathrooms. All of the bedroom walls are faced with timber paneling to mid-height with white sand wash on top, leading up to the high cathedral timber-lined ceilings with ceiling fans, and air-conditioning.

The Istana Living and Dining Area

The Living Room is located at the center of the building, and the rich teak wood floors are accented by the eight-meter high, self-supported, exposed cathedral ceiling. Matching natural wood wardrobes, and a stunning U-shaped sofa bed surrounding a matching table enable the d?cor to maintain a natural cozy interior, and a large white limestone carving, depicting the legendary establishment of Uluwatu, accents the right wall.

The Dotcom Room is an enclosed air-conditioned space, which can be opened up if desired to overlook both the front and back of the estate. Dominating the room is a massive relaxation couch, which easily seats the capacity of the house, covered in Thai silk pillows, which faces the wide-screen projection TV and entertainment centre. Alcoves in the back feature desks and internet access, providing a convenient place to catch up with the outside world.

The impressive dining room table consists of one solid slab of teakwood, and easily seats ten. This air-conditioned area is enclosed by four sets of swinging glass doors that can be opened if desired, and overlooks the lily gardens to one side, and the expanse of the ocean to the other. The specially designed lighting fixtures in the dining room offer an intimate atmosphere, complimented by the meditative sounds of the water feature in the garden.

The Istana Garden

Lotus water gardens flank the streamlined covered wooden walkway leading from the entrance into the main house, forming a straight line of sight leading all the way through the living room, over the central swimming pool, to the horizon. The colour of the pool water blends into the backdrop, merging within the mind’s eye, to that point that the pool becomes an extension of the Pacific Ocean that lies beyond it.

The main garden is decorated with palms, heliconias and ferns, mixed with white flowering Spider lilies, Aturium, and dwarf lilacs, whilst the gnarled trunks of numerous frangipanis lead the view upward to their magnificent, flowering blooms. The tropical flora shades the side of the house and creates a privacy screen from parking area and kitchen, while the water-ponds serve to naturally cool the living room with the help of the south-easterly breezes.

Offering a truly captivating view, this modern villa offers a retreat for those seeking a peaceful getaway in total privacy. A stay at Karang Putih can make you feel as if you are on the island alone in total luxury.

Karang Putih Estate Accommodation

Comprising the estate are three buildings: the main house, the pool house, and the private guest house. Two swimming pools, 6 air-conditioned bedrooms, mature tropical gardens, and a breathtaking view are the main highlights of this property. High ceilings and generous proportions of the rooms create the feeling of endless space, accented by the open nature of the structures and the resulting abundance of natural light. All of the rooms and corridors are exquisitely decorated with beautiful & rare antiques from the Asian region.

This exceptionally grand, privately owned villa, Karang Putih, boasts one of the most breathtaking views and magical setting one can behold. Complimented by the modern architecture and fine furnishings, this makes the ideal vacation home for the discerning visitor who wants to enjoy complete privacy and peacefulness in a luxurious yet comfortable setting.

Karang Putih Estate Grand Master Bedroom

Carpeted stairs lead up to the second floor, where lies one of the grand master bedrooms. The bedroom is filled with a gentle glow during the day, complimented by the light color scheme; beige terracotta floor tiles and dark beige walls. A massive abstract painting sets the backdrop to the king-sized bed. A writing desk sits opposite the bed, behind which is located the generous walk-in wardrobe and an oversized painting of a tropical shell. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a spacious terracotta bathtub that sits beneath large windows. The room is enlivened with tropical plants.

Karang Putih Estate Master Bedroom

The second master bedroom is located on the first floor at the western end of the house. Dark grey terracotta tiles on the floor are divided by the king-sized bed that dominates the room, set in the middle. It is situated as to offer an ocean view simply by reclining in the embrace of the generous white linens of the bed. Alternatively, sit on the white rattan couch at the foot of the bed, stretch your legs out on the rich Oriental rug, and watch the Para-gliders drift by from the neighboring launch site. Behind the bed is a massive white standing wardrobe, decorated with Chinese tiger panels set to either side of a massive antique mirror. To the north of the room is the entranceway to the enormous ensuite open-air bathroom, which could arguably stand as a living area of its own. Sunlight drenches the grey terracotta bathtub and wooden vanity. An additional open-air shower, overflowing tropical potted plants, and old sketches of boats are added highlights. The toilet is situated in a separate room.

The spacious bedroom verandah of dark grey terracotta connects to the rest of the first floor, and stretches east all the way to the opposite side of the villa where the incorporated open-air dining and formal sitting area are located. Stunning sunset views provide the ideal ambiance for friendly dinners with friends and family, or for a romantic meal for two. A standing Chinese screen offers added privacy to the large dining room table that can seat up to 20 people. Traditional Balinese limestone carvings of deities stand watch.

Karang Putih Estate Kids Bedroom

Ideal for children, it is fitted with twin beds and gentle sky blue walls. Playful finger paintings hang behind the beds, while colorful Bali boat kites adorn the standing wardrobe, which is filled with toys. The ensuite bathroom with shower is partially open air, as tall vertical windows open up to a walled-in rockgarden. Pastel paintings of tropical birds bring the room to life. If desired, babysitters can be provided by the staff.

Karang Putih Estate Pool House

A grand sweeping staircase guarded by Singapore lion sculptures leads you out of the main house to the landscaped garden. A pathway leads through the cascading bougainvillea to the pool house. The pool house, situated right by the cliff edge, boasts kitchen facilities and a large open sitting area complete with a tepanyaki table that seats eight. This tropical sitting area is lined with cushioned benches, which overlook the 17- meter salt water terrazzo swimming pool. A small raised sitting area offers the ideal location from which to gaze over the Indian Ocean to Nusa Lembongan, the neighboring island, or to observe the local fisherman and seaweed farmers below.

A large bedroom is connected to the sitting area. Bright yellow walls add to the modern tropical feel, as a dreamy blue painting of a boat adorns the wall. Mirrors to either side of the painting open up the room, furnished with a standing white rattan wardrobe and bedside table. The ensuite bathroom is done in blue with bamboo and terrazzo features. A Balinese carving forms the shower spout. A second doorway leads out to the sitting area, allowing this bathroom to double as a guest bath.

Karang Putih Estate Guest House

To the opposite side of the estate is the third structure of the villa. Sequestered in its own private space with draping gardens shaded by stoic tropical trees is the Guest House, complete with a private driveway. It functions as a fully self contained unit, compete with its own 6-meter swimming pool. A wooden balcony and alang-alang roof give this house a slightly more traditional feel, whilst up keeping the modern upbeat of the main house. An outdoor sitting area with umbrella gives a quaint beach feel.

Sliding glass doors lead into the first bedroom, painted in a bright yellow. Two single beds complete with striped yellow and white linens are backdropped by two shell paintings. A standing white wardrobe and dresser furnish the room, and thin vertical shelves decorated with vases, shells, and photos complete the homey feel. A bright foliage painting on the wall brings to life the ensuite open-air bathroom, complete with shower and beige terracotta features.

The second matching bedroom is located on the opposite side of the house. Modern green floral paintings add an elivening splash of color to compliment the crisp linens of the kingsized bed. The ensuite bathroom features a large grey terracotta bathtub, and a vase featuring a collage of butterflys to match the lamps in the connecting bedroom.

The center of the guesthouse is dedicated to a large hallway and sitting area decorated with prized antiques and artwork drawing primariy from Indoneisa. A small kitchen sits to the side, complete with a refrigerator and stove top cooking area.

Karang Putih Estate Library

The massive and comprehensive villa library and study, lined with white bookshelves filled with books and photos, this living space is comfortably homey, and also maintains the fantastic view of the grounds beyond sliding glass doors. Pick a book and curl up on the black armchair under the gothic-style mirror for a quiet afternoon or sit at the large desk and write a postcard home. Black rattan couches are situated on the library terrace, composing a formal sitting area. This provides another ideal setting from which to enjoy the bounties of the stunning garden views.

Hip with black and white checkered tiles, the fully equipped open European kitchen and walk-in pantry sit off to one side of the dining area. A breakfast bar offers an additional dining area for a casual meal. The house chef can cook up whatever you can dream up; all you have to do is ask. An eastern doorway from the kitchen leads to the staff quarters and laundry room.

To the opposite side of the kitchen is yet another relaxed sitting area. Here you will find the only entertainment system in the house, complete with satellite TV, DVD player, and stereo.

Karang Kembar 2 is located on the southernmost tip of Bali in a region known as the Bukit Peninsula - a limestone tableland boasting some of Bali most glamorous villas, private estates and internationally-branded boutique hotels. Fully equipped with all facilities from best quality, fully served by good and experienced staff and management, Karang Kembar is the best choice of a great holiday of Bali.

Perched upon a clifftop, 90 metres above the pristine Kutuh Beach and the rolling surf of southern Bali, Villa Karang Kembar 2 commands an easterly aspect, ensuring glorious sunrise views across the Indian Ocean and the neighbouring Nusa Penida Island.

Karang Kembar 2 is located on the southernmost tip of Bali in a region known as the Bukit Peninsula - a limestone tableland boasting some of Bali most glamorous villas, private estates and internationally-branded boutique hotels. Characterized by wide open spaces and skies, the azure waters are the playground of dolphins and migrating whales, and the landscape is dotted with wild flowers, cactus, kapok trees and spectacular scarlet flamboyants.

A tropical, equatorial climate means year-round balmy temperatures, this area is much drier than the rest of the island and - even in the rainy season - is a reliable sun-trap. When the southeast trade winds blow offshore and the southern ocean swells hit the reefs, the barrelling surf breaks are among the best in the world. In the shallows, within a patchwork of underwater, bamboo-fenced plots, the local people traditionally cultivate, harvest and export seaweed, for use in cosmetics, food stabilisers and medicines.

Despite its remoteness, Karang Kembar 2 is only 35 minutes driving from the endless shopping, vibrant nightlife and international restaurants of Kuta and Seminyak. A world-class beachside golf course can be found a few kilometres away at Nusa Dua, with another one at the nearby Dreamland Beach complex. The remainder of the island offers a rich mosaic of cultures, tastes, sights and sounds, together with a wide array of activities.

Villa Karang Kembar Accommodation

Veering away from tradition, the flat roofs, Palimanan stone walls and white interiors ooze a profound sense of calm, privacy and seclusion. The villa is fitted with WiFi Internet access and personal safe deposit boxes.

Master Suite

The Master Suite is located within its own pavilion flanked by a personal sundeck beside the pool, which is furnished with a funky, lazy chair for two. The pavilion incorporates the Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom, an en-suite Massage Room, and a Children Bedroom.

The spacious indoor area is equipped with a white terrazzo vanity unit with his and hers washbasins, glass-doored rainshower and toilet cubicles, cupboards and ornate crystal wall lamps beside large mirrors.

Guest Pavilion

The Guest Master Room boasts its own private sundeck, furnished with a double lazy chair. Inside, the room features a white terrazzo floor with a wood inlay, downlights in the ceiling, and expansive glass doors and windows to maximise the sea view. The room is furnished with a 2 x 2 metre bed, complete with a luxurious silk padded headboard and bedside lamps. There is also a satellite TV and a Bose iPod for guest use. The en-suite bathroom is dominated by an oversized black terrazzo bathtub positioned centrally upon the creamy-coloured Batu Yogya stone floor. A toilet and walk-in rainshower are situated in separate alcoves, and a black terrazzo vanity unit supports his and hers washbasins. A wall of wardrobes features sliding white doors.

Guestroom 1 in characterised by twin beds, a built-in wardrobe, an acid-wash non-slip marble floor and glass doors open to the view. It is equipped with a stereo system and twin washbasins fashioned in grey terrazzo. The marble walled rainshower and toilet cubicles are positioned opposite one another and accessed by glass doors.

Guest Room 2 offers the option of a double bed or twin beds, and features glass doors, a bengkirai wood floor, local artwork and a stereo music system. The bathroom is divided by a short screen wall and adjoins a sunny walled garden complete with a private outdoor rainshower and a pebbled area with potted plants and a pergola. There is also an indoor rainshower, a toilet, a wooden vanity unit and a washbasin.

Villa Karang Kembar Living & Dining

The air-conditioned Living & Dining Room is incorporated within a central pavilion, a rectilinear, glass-walled edifice that reflects the grand sense of scale. Floor-to-ceiling, folding glass doors can be opened to the views, the sea and the sky, catching the coastal breezes, or alternatively closed for air-conditioned comfort.

The living area is furnished with wicker sofas, chairs, bean bags, standard lamps and a coffee table, and is equipped with a large flat screen satellite TV, DVD and music system and surround sound speakers.

The dining area presents a dining table for ten with comfy chairs beside which a pair of Javanese statues rest in twin alcoves. A guest washroom is situated adjacent to the dining area.

Kitchen

The immaculate, designer Kitchen reveals a discriminating taste for functional beauty and cutting-edge style. Crafted in white, with stainless steel fixtures and fittings, a sparkling grey marble worktop, a teak breakfast bar, ample storage and a white terrazzo floor, this open-plan feature kitchen adjoins the living and dining room. It is fully equipped with an imported oven and hob, and everything else that the chef needs in order to prepare delicious meals, in accordance with the whims of his guests. A service area with laundry and staff quarters is tucked away out of sight at the back.

Villa Karang Kembar Ground

The garden is comprised of a series of terraced lawns and private grassy courtyards linked by steps of Indian slate. A dramatic central feature is the elevated, 21 x 5 metre, infinity-edge lap pool, which is lined with green Java stone and bordered on two sides by a large ironwood deck.

Furnished with a teak table for alfresco dining, and teak sunloungers, the view from this spot, across the cliff, is breathtaking. The velvety lawns are dotted with frangipani trees, while bougainvillea cascades over the garden wall. There is also an outdoor pool shower.

Parking is available at the entrance to the villa and guests are granted use of the exclusive Karang Kembar Beach Club.

Villa Alamanda is a luxurious tropical hideaway tucked between the rushing Petanu River and a quiet village of woodcarvers. The villa is set amidst the forest canopy, 8 minutes of Ubud, the cultural center of Bali.

Villa Alamanda, situated 8 minutes south-east of the cultural town of Ubud, is approached through the traditional Balinese woodcarvers-village of Tengkulak. Perched high on a ridge above the Petanu River, across the forest canopy, the graceful architecture blends contemporary elegance with ethnic charm. Designed to harmonise with the environment, this exclusive villa comfortably sleeps up to eight people in four stylish and spacious air-conditioned bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom.

Elegant teak furniture is complemented by clean lines, natural colours and local artwork. A sizeable, open-air lounge and dining terrace overhangs the jungle, creating a real feeling of space. Villa Alamanda presents tropical living at its best.

The property is built on the side of a hill; the living area and bedrooms are all on the same level with steps leading down into the garden. A large gate opens onto a paved parking area, where indigenous ?serai’ stone walls are complemented with timeworn statues. These jovial characters greet the guests as they step into the cool interior of the villa through a set of antique double doors. Inside, the hallway extends towards a T-shaped wooden terrace. Furnished with antiques, this breezy open-air living area runs the length of the house and boasts a delightful dining section that juts out over the tranquil gardens as they tumble into the steep ravine. The back garden is laid out with the overhanging frangipani and three mulberry root loungers to provide a gracious resting area.

The lower garden and pool area provide the perfect spot for relaxation. The garden is equipped with a large bale with plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the afternoons in luxurious style. The garden area is large enough for children to play or for you to entertain friends. At night, the house, gardens, soaring forest and pool area are lit up by a festival of lights, presenting guests with a dramatic sense of serenity.

Villa Alamanda Accommodations

Each of the four bedrooms features red-hued hardwood floor, double sliding glass and louvre doors that open onto the terrace, en-suite bathroom and fitted wardrobes.

The Master Bedroom is furnished in a contemporary style, enhanced by a bell jar ceiling lantern, Indonesian artefacts and paintings by local artists. Louvre doors lead into a dressing room, fitted with a chunky marble washbasin and teak cabinets and adjacent to the bathroom, with its marble bathtub and shower. The glassless windows in the bathroom allow the cool breezes to permeate, and provide lovely views of the main garden area and swimming pool bordering the river valley.

The Red Room is characterised by red accessories such as the lamps and paintings; and the Cinnamon Room by the spicy-scented cinnamon stick arrangement in the vase above the bed. Both of these bedrooms feature a private garden bathroom with a marble bathtub surrounded by walls and leafy shrubs.

A separate thatched pavilion houses the Garden Suite, a cosy bedroom that also doubles as air-conditioned lounge containing shelves of DVDs and books. The Garden Suite features an en-suite garden bathroom with a canopied bathtub.

A fully-equipped kitchen is behind the Garden Suite and is accessible from the car-parking area. There is so much attention to detail; even the water tower is decorated with fanciful carved flowers, dragonflies and birds.

An arched gateway with rustic Balinese doors marks the entrance to the beautiful garden, accessed by a dramatic flight of seventeen stone steps leading down from the car-park level. The garden is shaded by verdant jungle foliage and filled with an abundance of brightly coloured, sweet-scented tropical flowers and plants. A gnarled frangipani tree overhangs the enticing swimming pool; the water appears to cascade over the curved infinity edge into the backdrop of banana plants, bamboo, and towering coconut palms. A large relaxation gazebo, known as a Bale Bengong, is situated next to the pool and offers the comfort of cushioned daybeds. Sunloungers are positioned on the white Palimanan stone patio; hand-carved paras stone statues and garden lamps create a romantic ambience. The constant sound of the fast flowing Petanu River, as it carves its way through the steep gorge below, is accompanied by the melody of birdsong and cicadas.

Villa Alamanda is an ideal choice for those looking for modern luxury in peaceful surroundings; an enchanting retreat where guests can enjoy a relaxing experience with personalised service
No expense has been spared to offer guests every conceivable comfort and convenience, whilst ensuring that peace and privacy prevail.

Villa Bukit Naga is situated on the outskirts of Banjar Selat - a quiet, traditional Balinese village approximately twenty minutes east of Ubud, the cultural and artistic capital of Bali.
